Genius Hour
We are really excited about continuing Genius Hour at JAV this year!!
Genius Hour is a relatively new concept in the classroom but has been around in the business world for quite a long time. You may have heard the term 20% Time, coined by Google, a company that offers their employees 20% of their working hours devoted to a project of their choice – their passion – anything that may ultimately help the company.
JAV’s Genius Hour is on Fridays from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Don't be alarmed if your child comes home and asks to bring items to school for Genius Hour: these items could be musical instruments, recipes, and/or materials to make something on Fridays.
First grade and Kindergarten look a little different. Their Genius Hour consists of open centers to help students discover what their passions may be.
